Onsite Confined Space and Fall Rescue TrainingPrepare for the Worst with Onsite Confined Space and Fall Rescue Training

Confined space and at-height projects are some of the riskiest jobs. When working in confined spaces, employees are at risk of multiple hazards including:

  • Toxic atmospheres
  • Oxygen deficiency
  • Flammable and explosive atmospheres
  • Flowing liquid or free flowing solids, and
  • Excessive heat

Those working at height, meanwhile, are exposed to falls which can cause serious injuries or even death.

It is important that these workers are equipped with the necessary protection, including PPE and skills required to safely perform rescue. Our onsite confined space and fall rescue training course is designed exactly for this purpose.

What is Confined Space and Fall Rescue Training?

A confined space and fall rescue training course is a special training program created to arm workers with the knowledge needed to perform rescue in the unfortunate event that there is an incident during work.

Confined space workers learn the following:

  • Entrant Training: Entrants are trained on how to; recognize hazards, communicate with attendants beyond the designated zone, recognize and alert attendants to warning signs, use appropriate personal protective equipment, and perform self-rescue techniques.
  • Attendant Training: Attendants who are usually stationed outside the confined space learn to: identify hazards and monitor conditions, oversee and coordinate rescues, and maintain constant communication during rescue.
  • General Training: Other members of the crew learn to help in rescuing a team member without subjecting themselves to adverse risk.
  • Workers working at height learn the following:

  • Overview of regulations and standards: These include government policies and industry standards.
  • Fall protection rescue hierarchy: Trainees get to learn about self rescue, assisted rescue, and professional rescue.
  • Pre-planning and rescue goals: What happens if there is a fall? How does the team respond? Trainees will learn what steps to take and in what order, to ensure a safe rescue.
  • Equipment and equipment care:Finally, trainees learn about the different rescue equipment and how to use them. They also learn to inspect and care for the equipment.
