Safety Instructor

Robin has taught with MISAFETY for 8 years.  Currently he is certified to instruct OSSA Fall Protection, OSSA Confined Space Entry and Monitor, Confined Space Rescue, Enform H2S Alive, Enform Rig Work Fall Protection and Rescue Standard/Emergency First Aid/CPR and WHMIS/TDG.  In addition to instructing with MISAFETY, Robin is certified by DBI-SALA and MSA as a installer of fall protection equipment, and IRATA as a Rope Access Technician.

Robin is in charge or program development with MISAFETY and has written the OSSA Fall Protection and OSSA Confined Space Entry and Monitor courses, he also is involved with Enform consulting on the development of the Rig Work Fall Rescue course.  In 2006 and 2009 he worked on the Alberta OHS Code Part 9 and 41 committees helping to write the intial draft legislation.

Prior to 2004 Robin worked in the Oilfield for 7 years, and spent about 4 years working on drilling rigs and 3 years working for an oilfield service company.

Robin has always been interested in mountain activities (rock and ice climbing,  caving, hiking, snowboarding and mountain biking), and it was his interest in these activities that led to him pursuing certification in industrial safety and rescue work/training.

Currently Neil is certified to teach Enform H2S Alive, Enform Rig Work Fall Protection, OSSA Fall Protection, OSSA Confined Space Entry and Monitor, and Confined Space Rescue.  In addition to instruction Neil is a Red Seal Journey Man Welder and builds the various components of the fall protection systems MISAFETY installs.

Neil has spend the majority of his career working in the Oilfield, the first 10 years of his career, Neil spend working on drilling rigs, the next 15 years Neil spent as a welder, and worked his way up to foreman of a large welding shop.  Neil suffered a repetitive strain injury due to lifting heavy loads at work, and left the Oilfield to some technical upgrading.  In  2005 Neil came to work for MISAFETY because of his technical skills in designing fall protection anchors, and to instruct.

Dan  Chavez, Instructor

Dan is currently certified to teach OSSA Fall Protection and OSSA Confined Space Entry and Monitor.  Dan has been with MISAFETY since 2009.  Dan is also a rope access technician and has completed various project in Canada and internationally on ropes.

Prior to working with MISAFETY, Dan accumulated a variety of industrial and mechanical experience working for various industrial services companies, and mechanic shops.

Bobbi Nelson, Instructor

Bobbi is currently certified to teach Canadian Red Cross First Aid and CPR.  Bobbi has taught for MISAFETY since 2009. She has a great passion for teaching first aid and is working towards becoming a paramedic.

Prior to teaching with MISAFETY, Bobbi was interested in emergency medicine and pursued certification with the Red Cross.
